1976 born in Neustadt in Holstein / Baltic Sea
I decided early on to live with art.
After graduating from high school in 1996 and a voluntary social year in Eutin, Holstein, I began studying art at the University of Leipzig with Professor Frank Schulz (ed. Kunst & Unterricht, Friedrich Verlag)
1998 I volunteered with Christoph Schlingensief and Chance 2000 at the Badewannenrennen at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig
1999 I switched to the Universidad politecnica in Valencia to the Facultad de Bellas Artes with a focus on art photography and performance.
In 2001 I moved to the University of Osnabrück because of love and studied performance with Professor Peter Steineke, painting with Professor Elke Hergert, photography with Friederike von Behren and gender studies with Professor Dr. phil Carol Hageman-White.
I graduated in 2003 on the subject of "female artists and their positions in the 1970s" and wrote my thesis in photography on the interface between free art and fashion photography.
2004-2005 I got to know the gallery work in Hamburg and Berlin as an assistant at the "Viaux gallery for fashion photography" led by Natalie Viaux and Nadine Barth.
In 2004 there were 12 empty houses in downtown Hamburg that were to be sold to build penthouses and underground garages.
With luck I got the opportunity to use an apartment there as a studio with other young artists in order to keep the decay of the building in check.
In 2004 we founded the studio community "Salon Valentina". As a collective, we organized joint exhibitions with other artists from the off-scene and held workshops and cultural events for young artists and anyone who was interested. On the ground floor, we ran a gallery together with other groups.
In 2005 I passed the second state examination to became a teacher at the Gymnasium for Fine Arts and German language in Hamburg. Since 2006 I have been working both as a teacher at high schools and as a cultural worker and freelance artist in Hamburg.
I gave birth to our daughter in 2009 and our son in 2014.
Since this phase I had numerous exhibitions and also organized and curated them for and with other artists. I have offered workshops in various artistic areas: e.g. stop motion film, mask making, drawing, ceramics and much more
In the Gängeviertel I am committed to preserving the historically significant building fabric by organizing tours and organizing cultural events, performances and parties.
I have also dedicated myself to promoting young up-and-coming artists with the exhibition formats "Raus aus der Schule-rein in die Stadt" and since 2019 "Here we Are"
It is particularly important to me to connect people with the past of this city and to create identity and future through art.
